What do we believe?

EFCC Statement of Faith

(Adopted by the EFCC Conference, July 26, 2008)

The Evangelical Free Church of Canada is an association of autonomous churches united in a common commitment to God’s evangel--the gospel of Jesus Christ, who died and rose again to give us eternal life. To God's glory, the gospel is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. Our essential theological convictions are vitally connected to this gospel.

How can I become a Christian?

There is a loving all-powerful and just God, and he has created a standard for each of us to live by.

Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 22:37-40

Jesus loves you, and He wants you to have a personal relationship with Him. The problem is that sin (failing to keep God's law) separates us from God. You see, God's expectation is that all of us follow His "Law of love", and anyone who is honest must admit to not fulfilling it perfectly. God says that every person that has ever lived is a sinner, and any sin separates us from God. That includes me, and that includes you.

Daily Manna

  • Daily Manna from the Net for Friday, September 3, 2010 [1 Timothy 6:11-14]
But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Timothy 6:11-14 NASB

Five-year-old Jenna was not having a good start to her day. Every attempt to arrange the world according to her liking was having the opposite result. Arguing didn’t work. Pouting didn’t work. Crying didn’t work. Finally her mother reminded her of the Bible verse she had been learning: “Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You” (Ps. 119:11).
